After all, this is exactly the reason why fast food restaurants are sprouting all over metros. The same reason also goes for the increase in the sale and manufacture of instant food.</p>
<p>Breakfast is deemed as the most important meal of the day. However, most of us do not have the luxury of time to prepare a hearty breakfast. This is why many just opt to eat cereals. Eating it is just as easy as pouring them in a bowl and then adding some milk.</p>
<p>Going into the grocery store nearest you, you are bound to see aisles upon aisles of breakfast cereal boxes. The colorful boxes and fancy shaped cereals could entice you well enough to buy them. However, you need to look beyond the advertising and actually figure out which one will be best for you. It does not require you to be a rocket scientist to do so.</p>
<ol>
<li>Check out the nutrition facts label. You can find this mostly on the back or side of the package. This will give you health information that you will need in a nutshell, telling you the amount of fiber, vitamins, minerals, and even the sugar that are present.</li>
<li>Choose a cereal that has at most 5 grams of sugar per serving. It might not taste appealing as those that have more sugar content but you can always add fruits to sweeten it up. Also consider just how much servings you can actually consume so that you can gauge just how much sugar you are eating. Note that ten grams is roughly equivalent to 3 teaspoons of sugar.</li>
<li>Pick a cereal that is high in fiber. A good cereal should have at least 3 grams per serving. The kinds of cereal that mostly holds a good amount of fiber are oat cereals, shredded wheat, and bran cereals. Keep in mind that the more sugar a cereal has; the less fiber it can give.</li>
<li>Cereals fortified with vitamins and minerals are good picks. If you are sure that you are eating a healthy diet with the right amount of nutrients, then this should not be such a big worry for you. However, if this is not the case, you should ensure that you are getting a good dose of vitamins and minerals for your body. There are quite a number of them that are fortified with calcium, folic acid, Vitamin C, and Vitamin D.</li>
<li>Look over the cereal’s list of ingredients. Avoid those that contain artificial coloring and flavoring. Instead, pick those that have whole wheat or whole grain.</li>
</ol>
<p>Try to look past all the colorful packaging and take a look at the nutrition facts label. Also be in a good state of mind when shopping. Buying food when angry or hungry might tempt you to buy the wrong item.</p>

<p>Here are some tips on how to gain weight fast.</p>

<li>Build on calories. Add 500 calories to your daily intake like a big bar of chocolate or a glass of milk shake</li>
<li>Drink sodas. Sodas and fruit juices are loaded high in calories which should help you bulk up really fast.</li>
<li>Eat at night. If weight loss equates to not eating after 7 PM, do the opposite for weight gain and eat after 7 PM.</li>
<li>Lift weights. Weight training adds muscles to your body which will make you bulk up and weigh more.</li>
<li>Consume more protein. Proteins like eggs, nuts, beans, grains, and lean meat can help build up muscles.</li>
<li>Add oil and butter. The extra calories that olive oil and organic butter have will help you gain weight.</li>

<p>People often blame time for not being able to exercise. They claim that they are too busy with their work and personal lives that it would be too big a sacrifice to set aside time for physical activity. However, a new study from Taiwan should shoot down this excuse. The results of this study showed that for as little as 15 minutes, anyone can add an average of 3 years to their life.</p>
<p>The authors of the study noted that if inactive individuals in Taiwan get up and actually engage daily low-volume exercise, one in 6 deaths can be postponed. Its results were reported in the leading medical journal in the UK, the Lancet.</p>
<p><strong>An 8-Year Long Study</strong></p>
<p>The Taiwanese study involved 400,000 men and women aged 20 years old and older. Their exercise levels and health were tracked in an average of 8 years. The detailed self-reports of their habitual exercise levels were rated as inactive, low, moderate, high, or very high. Aside from their exercise levels, the lifestyles and health of the participants were also tracked, along with the incidence of cancer and all other conditions that result to death.</p>
<p><strong>Interesting Findings</strong></p>
<p>The results of study showed that even a small amount of exercise– just 15 minutes a day or about 92 minutes in a week of moderately-intense exercise can already provide big health benefits to the individual. In comparison to inactive people, 14 percent fewer of those participants who exercised dies during the duration of the study, which is an average of 8 years. Further, those people that exercised an average of 15 minutes a day had lower risks of acquiring adult-onset diabetes, cardiovascular disease, stroke, and cancer.</p>
<p>In general, all the positive benefits of level of exercise can add three years to the average lifespan of individuals. It should then follow that the more exercise, the more helpful it will be. However, the researches noted that the first hour or two of exercise provides the biggest gains.</p>
<p><strong>Exercising Half than the Recommended</strong></p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>If your parents ever told you to drink milk when you were younger, have you ever wondered how grown men and women could possibly think it’s a good idea to drink something designed for infant cows?  Well if you did, you can add it to another list of things you always thought that ended up turning out to be right.</p>
<p><strong>A recent string of studies has found that milk can lead to osteoporosis. </strong></p>
<p>Contrary to conventional wisdom, too much milk can actually weaken your bones.  The studies came about in response to the fact that despite record sales of dairy products in America, our rates of osteoporosis have increased to over 40 million. What’s even more peculiar is the fact that countries such as Mexico and China have some of the lowest cases of osteoporosis.  For example, a recent study found that highly acidic foods such as dairy can prevent your body from distributing calcium evenly.  Out of the 80,000 participants, the researchers found that women who drank at least one glass of milk a day experienced a 45% increase in their risk of hip fractures.</p>

<p><strong>How does that happen?</strong></p>
<p>When your body experiences an influx in calcium (ie. drinking too much milk), your bones will absorb the excess calcium until there is a balanced amount in your bloodstream. With habitual calcium intake, however, bones are so bombarded with calcium that they never have a chance to deport the excess calcium back into the bloodstream where it is then distributed to cells to aid in muscle function.  Normally this would simply lead to a surplus of calcium in your bones but a deficit in your blood stream. However…</p>
<p><strong>The damage is a two part process.  </strong></p>
<p>The proteins in dairy products are the primary reason why they are so highly acidic, and cause your body to react in order to maintain homeostasis.  Calcium, being a fantastic acid neutralizer, is deported from your bones to stabilize the ph of your blood.  Although you may normally be gaining a thicker bone density from an influx of calcium, your own body’s solution of dumping out its own calcium negates this effect, which depending on age and genetics, could ultimately lead to osteoporosis.</p>
<p><strong>Is there a solution?</strong></p>
<p>The only solution would be to find a non-acidic alternative to milk.  Dark and leafy vegetables and nuts are almost always high sources of calcium (spinach, seaweed, almonds, etc.) with a much lower ph balance.  A study carried out in Hong Kong also found that although the effects on your bones from milk consumption decreased exponentially after age 2, the test subjects that had the highest bone density had the healthiest weight and physical activity levels.   So maybe it’s time to put down the creamer and pick up your wallet, because right now it looks like a gym membership is our best chance of keeping our bones in tact.</p>
